Three ways to get your pallet

  Collect from our warehouse in Oakham at no charge. You get a collection code (for example AY-7K3QXN) on your order page and by email — show it at the warehouse and we load your pallet.

• 2Any courierYour own courier

  Book any courier or haulier you like and give them your collection code. They show the code at the warehouse and take the pallet away — no paperwork needed from you.

• 3£10 search feeAYLENSALE driver

  Pay a £10 search fee and we post your job to registered delivery partners — from small vans for boxes to trucks for pallets. A driver may or may not be found; the fee is non-refundable either way. Drivers send you prices, you pick one and pay. We hold the driver's price and only release it once you confirm delivery with your 4-digit handover PIN.

From payment to pick-up

   Your order is confirmed and your free storage window starts.

   Self collection, your own courier or an AYLENSALE driver. You can change this later from your order page.

3. Working days 1–3Free storage

   Collect any time up to 16:00 on the third working day after payment. No charge.

4. From working day 4Storage fee

   5% of the goods price for each extra working day, minimum £10 per day. Pay online before the pallet is released.

5. Working day 14Treated as abandoned

   If the pallet still has not been collected, we may resell it. The purchase price is not refunded.

Storage fees

After 3 free working days, storage costs 5% of the goods price for each working day, with a minimum of £10 per day. Delivery charges are not included in the calculation.

The pallet is released only once any storage fee has been paid — you can pay online from your order page. After 14 working days from payment an uncollected pallet is treated as abandoned and may be resold without a refund.

Show the buyer's collection code (AY-XXXXXX) at the warehouse. We check it against the order and load the pallet. No code, no release.

Own a van or truck? When a buyer chooses an AYLENSALE driver, the job is posted to registered delivery partners. Send your price, collect from Oakham and get paid securely once the buyer confirms delivery with their PIN.

Frequently asked questions

What counts as a working day?

Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays in England and Wales. Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays do not count towards your free window or towards storage fees, and each working day ends at 16:00 (UK time).

What about bank holidays?

Bank holidays in England and Wales are skipped, just like weekends. If you pay on the Friday before a bank holiday Monday, your 3 free working days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The warehouse is closed on bank holidays.

When exactly does my free storage end?

At 16:00 on the third working day after the day you paid. Your order page shows the exact date and time, and we remind you 24 hours before it ends.

How is the storage fee worked out?

For each working day after the free window, you pay 5% of the goods price (delivery charges are not included), with a minimum of £10 per day. For example, a £400 pallet costs £20 per working day.

How do I pay a storage fee?

Open the order in your account and pay the fee online. The pallet is released to you, your courier or your driver only once any storage fee has been paid.

Can I change how I get my pallet?

Yes. You can switch between self collection, your own courier and an AYLENSALE driver from your order page at any time until the pallet leaves the warehouse. Changing method does not reset the free storage window.

What if my courier is late?

The free window is based on the date the pallet actually leaves, not the date your courier was booked. If your courier misses the deadline, storage fees apply from the next working day. Please book collection well before 16:00 on your last free day.

How does my courier collect?

Give them your collection code (format AY-XXXXXX). They show it at Warehouse 4, Old Manton Station, Oakham LE15 8SZ during opening hours and we load the pallet. Couriers should bring suitable vehicles and straps for a pallet.

Do I have to choose a driver before paying?

No. You can collect driver quotes first and pay for the lot and delivery in one go, or pay for the lot now and choose a driver afterwards from your order page. The free storage window starts when you pay for the lot either way.

What happens to abandoned pallets?

If a pallet has not been collected 14 working days after payment, it is treated as abandoned. AYLENSALE may resell it, and the purchase price is not refunded. We send reminders every day while storage fees are building up, so this should never come as a surprise.
